Retro games aplenty can be found at the Newcastle Gaming Market, which takes place in just a few weeks’ time.
If you’re looking for the best way to find some long-lost, much-loved, or otherwise desirable retro games this year, the Newcastle Gaming Market might have what you want. Taking place next month at a world-renowned location with free parking, if you’re in the north half of the UK, this is looking like a great way to spend the day.
I’ve missed loads of events this year, from Kickstart 01 (son was in the Dance World Cup that weekend) to the upcoming Zzap! Live 2023 (I’m otherwise booked again), so I’m really hoping to at least make it to a retro fair.
Newcastle Gaming Market (confusingly) takes place at Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday, 9th September 2023. That’s around 7 weeks away, and they’re still looking for traders and stands (£70 a table), should you be interested.
The following traders have been confirmed:
- Console Passion
- Sore Thumb Retro Games
- JRGS
- TheRetroDodo
- Karim Safir
If you’re keen, you can pay for an extra hour before the riff raff turn up and score some classics in relative peace and quiet. Early tickets for Newcastle Gaming Market are available now, just £5, for 11am opening. 12 noon tickets are £3 on the door, and under 16s go free. If you want an idea of what to expect, check out their gallery.
Once you’re done, why not drop into Newcastle city centre and pay a visit to the Four Quarters retro bar and arcade?
