TAITO’s classic arcade games, RayStorm and RayCrisis, are getting a long-awaited HD remastered collection!
Firsat announced almost 12 months ago, the collection – available both digitally and physically on June 30th for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 – can now be preordered. RayStorm and RayCrisis are two of the most highly-regarded shoot ’em ups in TAITO’s history and are known for their polygon-based 3D graphics and striking art styles.
What is RayStorm?
RayStorm takes place in a parallel universe to RayForce and RayCrisis, where humanity has colonized all the way to Orion’s Belt. Unfortunately, the rebellious colony of Secilia plans to obliterate Earth, and it’s up to the player as the R-Gray fighter to penetrate the Secilian atmosphere and stop them.
In RayCrisis, players will be transported to a cyberspace environment, where they will face Con-Human, a malicious AI that has gained sentience and is threatening to destroy Earth. The game features stunning 3D graphics and is accompanied by the legendary soundtrack composed by TAITO’s sound team, ZUNTATA.
The collection also offers their HD remastered versions and the unforgettable soundtrack, making it a must-have for anyone who wants to relive the excitement of epic battles in outer and cyber space.
But that’s not all! TAITO’s original Ray’Z Arcade Chronology is also coming to the West with five versions of three titles. Players can experience the original arcade version of RayForce, released in 1994, which revolutionized the “two attack layer system” in shoot ’em up games.
RayStorm x RayCrisis HD Collection will be available on June 30th physically and digitally for £34.99 on Nintendo Switch and Sony PS4. Don’t miss out on the chance to own this classic collection!
Meanwhile, Strictly Limited Games is releasing the Ray’Z Arcade Chronology plus an unreleased prototype level “R-Gear”, allowing hardcore fans to experience the excitement of space battles across the Ray multiverse!
