It’s time to kick ass and drink Ego Boost, and Duke Nukem is all out of ass.
Been wondering what to drink the next time you’re short of energy or hung over? No, this isn’t an April Fool, this is absolutely real: a new zero-sugar Energy Formula drink from G FUEL, with Duke Nukem endorsement (and the voice of Jon St. John himself!
So, what on earth is this about? G FUEL CEO Bryan Crowley says “G FUEL always aims to give our fans a competitive edge in whatever they do, and you won’t find a video game character that defines ‘edge’ quite like Duke Nukem. We matched Duke’s in-your-face personality with a delicious, new flavor combination that’s as refreshingly bold as he is.”
I imagine Duke Nukem’s “flavor combination” is cigars, sweat, and bubble gum, and alien guts, none of which are particularly appealing.

Still, I’m sure G FUEL are confident that whatever alien blood-flavoured drink they’re selling, they’ve had some success in low-scale testing before opting for a general release.
What does Gearbox say about Duke Nukem Ego Boost?
While developed by Apogee Software/3D Realms, Duke Nukem is now owned by Gearbox.
Gearbox’s Sean Haran says: “Duke helped revolutionize the first-person shooter genre in the 1990s, and he’s a character gamers around the world continue to connect with. Partnering with G FUEL helps us bring him to life and build on that connection in a whole new way.”
“Bring him to life”? Perhaps Sean has had soo much Ego Boost already. After all, as fun a character as he might be, Duke Nukem lives in the world of the 1990s, not the 2020s…
