Right, now you know what has just happened, you can catch up below with how this was initially built up.

The original Acclaim was responsible for a decent selection of games during the 80s, 90s, and noughties, ranging from the North American and European publishing of Tiger-Heli to adaptations like Airwolf, Rambo, Knightrider, and Back to the Future II & III. All of those were in the last 3 years of the 1980s, and for the next decade they put out at least 10 titles a year, with the Turok series, NHL franchise, adaptations like South Park and The Simpsons, some developed in-house, others by independents.

This continued into the current millennium, with Crazy Taxi, and Team17’s Worms 3D both landing in 2004. But that is where the Acclaim story ended, aside from a few postscripts… until now. Published during Gamescom 2025, this official release states:

Get ready for the next era of gaming. The legendary name in video games returns. New worlds, bold ideas, and the next wave of unforgettable games.

From heart-pounding action to unforgettable stories, Acclaim is building a line-up that’s ready to redefine how you play. This is just the beginning.

Some social media posts followed, teasing the transmission’s imminence:
