Classic point-and-click mystery adventure arrives December 11
Spanish studio DevilishGames, in partnership with Making Enemies, has announced that Scholar Adventure: Mystery of Silence will release on Steam on December 11, 2025.
Following a successful showing during Steam Next Fest, this pixel-perfect point-and-click adventure invites players to explore an eerie abbey where the monks have taken a vow of silence — and where dark secrets lie buried beneath the surface.
A literary journey into darkness
In Mystery of Silence, players step into the shoes of William, a young writer searching for inspiration for his debut work. His quest takes him to an isolated monastery where silence reigns — but behind those quiet walls lies a disturbing truth.
With an attractive art style evocative of — and inspired by — the 1990s golden era of graphic adventures and developed using the PowerQuest engine (as seen in The Drifter), Mystery of Silence mixes a moody atmosphere, clever puzzles, and dark humour in a story that unfolds over two to three hours of gameplay.
DevilishGames, based in Villena, Spain, has over 25 years of experience and more than 150 published titles, including Onirike, Path to Mnemosyne, and Minabo – A Walk Through Life.
Making Enemies, led by Ayose Trujillo, brings a creative vision rooted in advertising and visual storytelling to its debut project. The game’s soundtrack is composed by Antonio Vozmediano, a Madrid-based artist known for his orchestral flair.
Retro style meets modern storytelling
The game’s detailed pixel art, eerie soundtrack, and suspenseful pacing clearly aims to capture the spirit of classic adventures like Monkey Island and Gabriel Knight while embracing contemporary design and accessibility.
Based on the trailer, I think they might just have cracked that magic formula.
Scholar Adventure: Mystery of Silence will launch on Steam in English, Spanish, Catalan, Basque, and Galician, with versions for additional platforms expected in 2026. Look out for it from December 11, 2025, priced at $7.99 / £6.69 / €7.99, with a 10% launch discount.
