Retro arcade bar chain NQ64 cocktails designed by employees and inspired by games have been announced.

Designed following a staff competition across NQ64 bars, the new cocktail menu is inspired by Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario Kart, and Crash Bandicoot. Staff in the seven NQ64 bars across the UK competed in the competition, resulting in a winner, the “Bowser Breezer” by Manchester team-member Ben. This blends Bacardi Rum, watermelon, ginger, and Vimto.

Meanwhile, another retro-inspired drink game out of Manchester, the “Dr RoBevNik” is a Jack Daniels’ and Cherry Bourbon blend, with Dr Pepper Syrup and a cherry, served on the rocks. With entries from staff at NQ64s in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and Cardiff, another winner was the “Aku Aku Friut Punch” which is inspired by Crash Bandicoot, and developed by the NQ64 drinks trainer, who mixed Plantation Pineapple Rum with Mount Gay Eclipse, peach, banana, apple and Refresher syrups.

If you haven’t been to an NQ64 yet, the menu has just been launched, which makes it a great time to check out a gaming bar near you, not just for the cocktails, but for the chance to play classic arcade games like Time Crisis , Pac-Man, Street Fighter, and more, or play on classic consoles like Super Nintendo or PlayStation.
