It’s dangerous to blindly trust tidbits from the rumor mill, but Metal Gear Solid information keeps cropping up on social media, and some of these claims are starting to add up.

As with any leaks, take these with a MASSIVE pinch of salt.

‘Oops Leaks’ claims that “Classic Metal Gear Solid games should be coming to Steam this year”. There’s no telling what games this leak refers to, but I’ll take anything to get the foul taste of Metal Gear Survive out of my mouth.

This rumor lines up nicely with a post by AestheticGamer (a known leaker who correctly leaked a lot of information about Resident Evil: Village) from August 2022. VideoGameChronical even posted a story on it at the time. Back then, they talked about remasters of the original Metal Gear Solid trilogy reportedly being made for all platforms, including PC.

As it stands, most of the Metal Gear Solid series is noticeably absent on PC. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the only numbered entry for the series on Steam despite the original trilogy having been released on several platforms through the years. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater was even released on the Nintendo 3DS!

Fingers crossed, 2023 will be the year PC players finally get to enjoy these classic stealth action masterpieces.
