Is Sega planning to re-release Crazy Taxi and other classic titles? Or are they getting the full reboot treatment?
A Redditor has spotted a survey from Sega Insights Lab in which a number of classic titles are listed, with options reflecting the game’s visibility with current audiences.
Among the games listed are Judgment, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Shinobi, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Altered Beast, House of the Dead, and Virtual Fighter. Each game in the survey can be expected, and one of three options selected:
- Never heard of it
- Heard of it, but never played a game from it
- Played a game from it

While it may be hoped that Sega is planning to reissue some of these titles in retro form, this is likely not the case. Most have already been released on current platforms, whether that be Switch, PlayStation 4/5, or Android or iOS.
More likely, games like Crazy Taxi and Altered Beast are being considered for a complete reboot for current gen hardware. Disappointing, but also quite exciting.
On the other hand, could it be Sega exploring a post Sonic movie venture? Time will tell.
