Atari has announced the Atari 2600+, a modern reimagining of the iconic Atari 2600 video game console. The Atari 2600+ will be released worldwide on November 17, 2023, and is available for pre-order now for $129.99.
Produced with PLAION, the Atari 2600+ is a faithful recreation of the original Atari 2600, but it also includes a number of modern features, such as HDMI output, USB power, and multiple screen resolutions. It also comes with a CX40+ joystick, which is a replica of the original Atari 2600 joystick.
Most importantly, the device plays genuine Atari cartridges. The Atari 2600+ is backwards compatible with hundreds of original Atari 2600 and 7800 games. It also comes with a 10-game cartridge that includes some of the most popular Atari games of all time, such as Adventure, Missile Command, and Yar’s Revenge.

In addition to the Atari 2600+, PLAION and Atari are also releasing a CX-30 paddle controller and a standalone CX-40 joystick. The CX-30 paddle controller is a four-in-one controller that includes paddles, a joystick, and two buttons. The standalone CX-40 joystick is a replica of the original Atari 2600 joystick, but it does not have the same modern features as the joystick that comes with the Atari 2600+.
