It turns out Atari 50 isn’t done celebrating just yet. The acclaimed Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is getting a major content boost with new DLC, this time the Namco Legendary Pack, an expansion that dives deep into the shared history between Atari and Namco — two of the biggest names in early video gaming.

This new pack adds an interactive timeline and a fresh collection of classic games, with a focus on Namco’s hits that appeared on Atari hardware, and it is landing next week, November 13th 2025.

A history of Pac-Man and friends on Atari hardware

The highlight of the Namco Legendary Pack is undoubtedly birthday-boy Pac-Man, presented in three different Atari flavours — the 2600, 5200, and 8-bit computer versions. It’s the first time these versions have ever been re-released for consoles, and for retro historians, that’s a big deal. Each offers a slightly different take on the maze-munching classic, reflecting how developers of the time adapted arcade experiences to fit limited home hardware.

The pack also includes Galaxian, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Xevious, in both their home console and U.S. arcade incarnations. The arcade versions of Dig Dug and Xevious, originally developed by Namco and distributed by Atari, are being re-released in this form for the very first time.

It’s a playable documentary

As with the base Atari 50 collection, the Namco Legendary Pack isn’t just about reliving old games — it’s about context. The expansion includes a new interactive timeline packed with video interviews, photos, documents, and behind-the-scenes materials from the golden age of Atari and Namco’s collaboration.

Expect fascinating insights into how Namco’s coin-op brilliance crossed over into Atari’s home consoles, shaping what players thought video games could be in the early ’80s.

A perfect excuse to revisit Atari 50

For those who already own Atari 50, this pack adds even more reason to fire it up again. The blend of historical storytelling and authentic emulation has made Atari 50 one of the most impressive retro compilations in years, and the Namco Legendary Pack looks set to continue that standard — bridging two legacies that helped define gaming itself.

The Namco Legendary Pack for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration launches November 13th, 2025, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. If you don’t own it already, now is a good time to grab Atari 50. Head to the Atari website to learn more.
