If you thought the Atari 50 game list was missing a few 2600-era classics, you’re about to have a great Christmas…
Here’s some excellent news if you enjoyed the Atari 50 collection. It’s list of games is about to get an upgrade, with a further 12 titles joining the decade-spanning celebratory release.
Take a look at how it was announced:
Incredibly, while they’re not flogging sports jackets and other overpriced tat, Atari do know how to treat genuine retro gamers.
Here’s a list of some of the suspected additions, all previously hinted to be Atari 2600 titles.
- Basketball
- Steeplechase
Meanwhile, several other titles were absent from the Atari 50 game list, including:
- Joust
- Pitfall
- Frogger
- Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
- Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark
- E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
Could any of these games be heading to the Atari 50 collection…? Well, maybe the first three…

Here’s the original list:
[table id=23 /]If you own the Atari 50 collection, you can expect the update to appear on your device on Tuesday, 5th December.
Meanwhile, if the Atari 2600 isn’t your thing, don’t worry – the Atari Jaguar and other devices are likely to be the subject of future updates… (although apparently not Atari ST – this is a console game-only collection.)
