Bitmap Books has built a solid reputation producing thoughtfully designed coffee table volumes for retro gamers. But as with many classic games, these books have hidden depths, boasting stunning layouts, art directly from the games under discussion, and beautiful photography of things like game packaging and hardware.
We’ve been fortunate enough to own and review some of Bitmap Books’ library over the years, and cannot recommend these tomes highly enough. If you missed out on any of the books headed for republishing (I’m looking at The Art of Point-and-Click Adventure Games), then head over to the Bitmap Books website to pre-order from their upcoming reprint run.
