Digital Eclipse, in collaboration with Hasbro, has announced physical editions of the critically acclaimed retro-style side-scrolling beat ’em up, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
Standard and Collector’s Editions Available
Following its digital release in December 2024, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind garnered a host of positive reviews from critics and fans alike. With engaging gameplay and 16-bit style visuals, it really recreates the Power Rangers “feel.”
For the physical release, fans will have the option of purchasing a standard edition (priced at $34.99/€39.99/£34.99) or a collector’s edition (priced at $49.99/€54.99/£49.99). The collector’s edition includes a premium box and cover art, a steelbook case, a poster, a lenticular 3D postcard, and individual collectible pixel art cards featuring the Power Rangers.
Pre-Orders Now Open
Physical editions of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind are scheduled for release on May 30th. Pre-orders are now available through Atari.com (US only) and participating retailers worldwide, including Amazon.

A Love Letter to Classic Arcade Games and the Power Rangers
Rita’s Rewind is a faithful homage to both 1990s arcade titles and the beloved Mighty Morphin Power Rangers franchise. The game features meticulously crafted pixel art, a rocking guitar soundtrack, and old-school side-scrolling beat ’em up action. Gameplay is littered references to the classic Power Rangers universe.
Players can embark on a high-octane adventure featuring classic side-scrolling combat, thrilling 3D sequences, and cooperative Megazord battles against Rita Repulsa’s army of Putty Patrollers, General Goldar, and other memorable villains.
The game supports up to six-player local co-op and online multiplayer on all platforms except PlayStation 4, which is limited to four players.
Another Moonshot from Digital Eclipse
The team behind Rita’s Rewind is Digital Eclipse, who previously brough us Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, Tetris Forever, and Atari 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Clearly, this is a group that really understands retro, and has previously delivered products that are not just hugely playable and perfectly calibrated, but intriguing. Digital Eclipse has confirmed it will be releasing new gameplay features and online improvements in the near future, with details to be revealed soon.
