Capcom Arcade Stadium Vol. 1 is finally heading to physical media, with Limited Run Games confirming releases for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Originally released digitally in 2021 (including on PC), this marks the first time Capcom’s arcade compilation will be available on cartridge or disc — a welcome move for collectors who prefer owning their retro libraries outright.
A strong slice of Capcom’s arcade history
The collection includes 32 arcade classics, spanning the early 1980s through to the CPS-2 era. The line-up is packed with heavy hitters and a few cult favourites, including:
- Strider
- Ghosts ’n Goblins and Ghouls ’n Ghosts
- Final Fight
- Captain Commando
- Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Street Fighter II Turbo (these have also been released on the Capcom Fighting Collection)
- 1942, 1943, 1944 and 19XX
- Progear and Giga Wing
Strider and Ghosts ’n Goblins were always standouts for me — both brutally tough, but endlessly replayable, and exactly the sort of games that defined Capcom’s arcade reputation. Here’s the original release trailer:

A milestone release
Alongside the original arcade experience, Capcom Arcade Stadium Vol. 1 includes modern options such as save states, rewind, screen filters and online leaderboards. You can take advantage of them, or ignore them entirely and play the games as they were.
This is Limited Run #300, making it a notable entry in the publisher’s catalogue. Multiple cover art options are available, and the release is region-free across all platforms.
Pre-orders are open now via Limited Run Games, with production beginning once the order window closes.
