New game starring Anthropomorphic egg is getting a physical release, and you can now pre-order Fast Food 2 on disk!
Incredibly, a new Dizzy game is available on Amiga AGA systems. Fast Food 2 is an unofficial sequel, with the walking egg brought back via the Scorpion 16-bit game engine. Developed by AcidBottle for the 2024 AmiGameJam, the game is already available to download on Itch.io (via pay what you want). The physical release, announced below, is the icing on the, uh, egg.
What is Fast Food 2?
The synopsis for Fast Food 2 is as follows:
It all began like any other unremarkable day, Dizzy woke up, opened the curtains and looked out of the window. However, within moments, dark grey clouds loomed into view. Suddenly there was an enormous thunderous bang, followed by a huge forks of lightening striking randomly all over the city. As suddenly as it all began, the clouds lifted and all was still. This appeared to have the trademarks of Dizzy’s arch rival, The Evil Wizard Zaks, all over it. What was he up to this time?!
Fast Food 2 is by Ben Brown (AcidBottle) with music by Simone Bernacchia (JMD) and box art by Simon Phipps. The Oliver Twins are credited, which indicates approval has been agreed.
The original Fast Food appeared in 1989, and was the third Dizzy game from Codemasters and the Oliver Twins. A remake, Fast Food Dizzy, was released on Nintendo Switch in 2020 by Andrew and Philip Oliver.
So, while you can grab Fast Food 2 in ADF and LHA format now from AcidBottle’s Itch.io, the physical copy might just fill a hole on your shelf.
Deluxe Collector’s Edition
In the deluxe edition of the game, you will get:
- A brand-new glossy big box
- The Fast Food 2 game on a 3.5″ floppy disk
- A full-colour instruction booklet
- A glossy, single-sided A4 poster
- A surprise secret gift!
However, note that this game is AGA-only. This means it will not run on an Amiga 500 or 600. It will run on original A1200 and A4000 computers, as well as the CD32. It will also run on the Amiga Mini (A500 Mini). The game also requires 2MB free chip RAM, and all you need to play is a single button joystick, although joypad support is included.
You can currently purchase the digital version of the game through BitmapSoft, so keep an eye on their store for the physical version of Fast Food 2, which will retail at £40.
