Take this with a pinch of salt, but there is a new rumour about the GoldenEye Xbox and Switch releases doing the rounds.

To recap fully on this topic would be exhaustive. Suffice to say, we know that there is an Xbox Live Arcade version of GoldenEye 007 (leaked in 2021) and we know that N64 games have started landing on the Nintendo Switch. We know that the game is scheduled to be released on both Xbox and Nintendo Switch (with the Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack), because this happened:

Also, this happened:

The latest rumour – from Twitter user @eXtas1stv – suggests the gaame will *finally* be along at the ed of January. @eXtas1stv has “previous” for leaking rumours that turned out to be true (and hopefully keeps his/her nose clean otherwise) so there is a level of confidence around the declaration.

Then again, I could easily claim that GoldenEye is landing on Good Friday and will feature a secret Nintendo 3DS versions and someone would take it seriously. Because that’s where we are now with this bary set of circumstances. The old Nintendo 64 game is coming out on Nintendo Switch and Xbox legally, but we don’t know when, no one officially wants to say, and we like it that way.

It’s a game of cat and mouse worthy of a James Bond movie. Prepare your vodka martinis for late January, but prefer to neck them in one and play Perfect Dark instead if nothing happens…
