Blaze Entertainment has confirmed the release date and game listing for the upcoming Llamasoft Collection for Evercade and Super Pocket consoles.
Featuring an incredible 27 games (I think that might be a record for an Evercade cart) the collection covers the 8-bit and 16-bit eras of Llamasoft, the publishing name of visionary game developer Jeff Minter. It’s good to see this collection hitting Evercade, especially given the developer’s resurgence (as demonstrated in The Jeff Minter Story).
27 all-time classics from the hairiest Yak in gaming!
British game maker Jeff Minter is one of the original independent developers. In this collection, we celebrate 27 of his all-time best home computer classics, including Attack of the Mutant Camels, Gridrunner and more!
Here’s the trailer:
What’s on the Llamasoft Collection?
While 27 games are included, some are duplicates, with A and B versions on VIC-20/VC-20 and Commodore 64, and A and B versions on C64 and Atari ST. As the listing notes:
Where possible, this collection includes multiple versions of games to showcase how there were significant differences between the same game on different platforms. This is indicated by some games having an “A” or “B” after their title. In all instances, the “A” version was the first to be released, while the “B” version was a later port to another home computer platform.
