Independent development studio The Retro Room Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the development of Collie Defense, a new tower defense game for the Game Boy Advance.
In Collie Defense, players take on the role of a brave Border Collie who must protect a flock of sheep from various threats, including bears, tigers, and foxes. The game features 4 types of towers and over 10 levels to play through, both in story mode and high-score mode. Collie Defense also incorporates an innovative QR Code system for sharing high scores, a first for GBA gaming.
The game was originally created as a proof of concept for the GBA Game Jam 2022, where it ranked third. If the Kickstarter campaign is successful, Collie Defense will be released as a fully-developed physical Game Boy Advance game, complete with a case, manual, and other goodies.
