GoldenEye 007 Remastered for Xbox Could Be Released Soon

Last Updated on February 15, 2022

You probably already know that GoldenEye 007 was never released on the Xbox 360 despite considerable effort going into its production.

In early 2021 it transpired that GoldenEye 007 was almost complete when it was pulled from its 2010 release. This was confirmed when when the planned Xbox Live GoldenEye 007 was leaked online. With the help of the Xenia Xbox emulator for Windows, anyone can play GoldenEye 007 on PC.

Interest in the game has been considerable since the leak. GoldenEye 007 remains a memorable James Bond moment, a synergistic gaming experience relying on one of the the movie series best films. The Daniel Craig version of James Bond has not been seen in video game form since the Quantum of Solace game back in 2010. While a good game it isn’t GoldenEye 007. Craig’s likeness appears in the Nintendo Wii version of GoldenEye 007, but this is a different game to the planned Xbox release, which was basically the Nintendo 64 original (currently available to play on the Nintendo Switch) with remastered graphics.

With this in mind it should come as no surprise that work has been proceeding on a current gen version of GoldenEye 007. Ironically for a game about a super spy, we’ve also seen achievement details leaked online.

Indeed a new version of GoldenEye 007 for the Xbox series could be unveiled in just a matter of days and certainly weeks. While we don’t have a screenshot or footage and it could simply be a polish version of the 2010 pulled release, being able to officially play GoldenEye 007 on Xbox One or another modern gaming system without worrying about emulation configuration is something to look forward to.

The world has been calling out for a new James Bond video game. Will the world accept a new old James Bond video game?
