Prepare yourself for a glorious blast of pixelated profanity — The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit is getting the full Limited Run Games treatment. Physical pre-orders for the retro-inspired action platformer are now live on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and yes — the original NES.
Developed by Programancer (of Prison City and The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest fame) and published by Retroware, AVGN 8-Bit aims to channel everything that made those impossible old-school NES games so challenging — brutal jumps, unforgiving enemies, and a hero (uh, you) with more rage than sense.

Released digitally in October, this latest Nerd outing delivers a side-scrolling rampage that feels straight out of a lost Cinemassacre episode — complete with exclusive live-action sequences filmed just for the game.
But that’s not all. Limited Run Games is going full collector’s dream (or nightmare) with four NES cartridge editions, created by Mega Cat Studios:
