Ever fancied a more arcade-like experience from your Nintendo Switch? The Mini Arcade PRO from iMP Gaming might fit the bill…

When I play solo with my Nintendo Switch, I never use the kickstand. If it’s not in handheld mode, I use a foldable play stand, which sits on the table perfectly. But while I’ve played plenty of classic arcade games on the Switch — like those in the Operation Night Strikers collection — I’ve never once thought that it might be a good idea to turn the Switch into a mini arcade machine.

(Which, I guess, is why I’m writing this and not promoting my smart idea at Gamescom 2025.)

Coming soon from iMP Gaming is the Mini Arcade PRO, a clever controller and ABS arcade shell that converts a Nintendo Switch (including OLED model and the Nintendo Switch 2) into a table-top arcade unit. It’s not a brand-new concept, as plenty of custom-builds and small-scale Etsy projects that offer something similar have been around since the early days of the Switch.

Mini Arcade PRO: For Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch 2

However, the Mini Arcade PRO is the first to offer support for all three non-Lite Nintendo Switch models, with a modular, ABS chassis and USB-C port for the arcade-style controller unit.

Designed to be easy to assemble, it features a real micro-switched Ball-Top Joystick with eight configurable buttons. An integrated switch is provided to enable quick toggle between D-Pad, left, or right thumbstick control, which should all suit most games. Meanwhile, 12 Switch cartridges can be stored at the back of the unit, and it has a non-slip base, too!

Dean Harvey, Managing Director of iMP Gaming commented, “The Mini Arcade PRO is the perfect example of the innovative direction iMP Gaming is now taking with its range of Nintendo Switch 2 compatible accessories. Ingenious, cost effective and effortless to use, the Mini Arcade PRO uses the players’ own Switch or Switch 2 device, perfectly recreating the arcade thrills so many of us grew up with.”

The Mini Arcade PRO is aiming for release in October 2025 ahead of the Christmas 2025 market. Learn more on the iMP Gaming website.
