We’ve known about the possibility of the long lost GoldenEye 007 port for Xbox Live almost as long as the game was leaked online.
Yet its arrival seems to be slower than a Timothy Dalton movie.
What we do know is that beyond those few who know how to play GoldenEye on PC in the Xenia emulator, no one is unlocking achievements outside of , the game’s developer.
Eagle-eyed VGC writers spotted the unlocked achievements of a player called BIGsheep, who may be a Rare developer. BIGsheep has been playing through GoldenEye 007 on Xbox since October 2021, with progress and achievements monitored on Xbox achievements tracker TrueAchievements
This news follows the uncovering of various GoldenEye 007 achievements, but of course there remains no hint or rumour of a release date. The original will probably/perhaps appear in the Nintendo Switch expanded subscription pack at some point, and it may/may not appear in Xbox Live.
Given the uncertainty, it’s more like Quantum of Solace, really…
