Several announcements were made at CES concerning retro emulation systems, retro styled computers, and retro-friendly game and mobile controllers.
I’ve always been fascinated by CES. Despite being a technology writer for around 20 years, I’ve never actually been to the event. I’m not a great flyer, which has probably put me off in the past, although to be honest, I would take the trip now just to say that I had.
If you want to know what is coming in the world of retro gaming gear in the next year, here’s what has been announced at CES 2026.
MyArcade Gamestation Retro Series
Following the trend of the past few years, MyArcade made a big impact in the retro scape at CES, but this time without the Atari branding. Instead, we’re going to be seeing other big name IP holders teaming up with MyArcade, as teased in 2025.
Gamestation Retro Go
A BANDAI NAMCO/CAPCOM Gamestation Retro Go was displayed at CES 2026, which like the Atari model includes 200 games. Reviews of the Atari model have been mixed, with concerns raised about the controller hardware and the game selection UI, not to mention emulation. So hopefully the next iteration of this hardware will be somewhat improved.
Gamestation Retro Pro
Again already touted as an Atari model, the Gamestation Retro Pro is a home console version of the Go. It ships with two controllers, and the BANDAI NAMCO/CAPCOM model will also include 200 games, and outputs at 1080p. Pricing is thought to be in the $149.99 zone.
Gamestation Retro Mega
Once again with BANDAI NAMCO/CAPCOM games pre-installed, this is a tabletop arcade unit, a little smaller than an Evercade Alpha. It’s not clear how many games are pre-installed on the Mega.
Release details for these devices have yet to be confirmed, but as soon as the games, prices, and pre-order dates are available, we’ll let you know.
