It’s been a big day for Evercade, and news of Roguecraft DX hopping from Amiga to the curated cartridge platform has particularly piqued my interest.

As a fan of both Amiga and Evercade, this is perhaps the most intriguing collision of both platforms yet, certainly since the Team17 Collection.

Available for pre-order from May 30th, 2025, the single-game cartridge is #9 in the blue Home Computer line of Evercade releases. Roguecraft‘s Evercade port was announced as part of the latest Evercade showcase, in which various collections and hardware were announced.

What is Roguecraft DX?

First released in 2023, Roguecraft is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler for Amiga 500 through to CD32.

The game features:

  • Fully procedurally-generated levels
  • A unique experience with every playthrough
  • A plethora of potent potions and pickups
  • Glorious pixelated isometric graphics
  • Atmospheric soundtrack by Jogeir Liljedahl
  • Gruesome sound effects by h0ffman
  • No easter eggs – just lots of chickens.

The Evercade version seems to have been renamed to Roguecraft DX to differentiate it from the original game.

Blaze Entertainment, the company behind Evercade, said:

“As we celebrate five years of Evercade, we’re excited to continue expanding our ecosystem with iconic arcade experiences, exciting indie titles, and innovative hardware. From legendary names like TAITO and SNK to modern retro gems like Roguecraft DX, we’re staying true to our mission, making great games accessible in a way that respects their history and delights collectors and players alike. We look forward to the next 5 years.”

Right, now it is time to enjoy the trailer:

As you can see, Roguecraft is one of the most impressive titles to land on the Amiga in years, so it isn’t really a surprise to see it end up on Evercade. It’s certainly good news!

Roguecraft DX will be out on August 30th, 2025. If you own an Amiga or A500 Mini, you can get the game from Thalamus’s Itch.io page. A physical version is also available — check the Thalamus store for availability.
