Being a music composer, Wise created tracks from the Donkey Kong Country games, the score for Tropical Freeze. Later, he composed music for Sumo Digital’s Snake Pass and Playtonic’s Yooka-Laylee. Bayliss is revered for the redesign of Donkey Kong, and the original designs for Battletoads, Diddy Kong Racing, Killer Instinct and Yooka-Laylee.

Kirkhope expressed his heartfelt emotions of producing this unique tune. On his Twitter, he stated “I always wanted to do a cheesy Xmas tune in the grand tradition of the UK Xmas hits that were huge when I was a teenager. This year it happened”. He encourages Christmas spirit by demanding, “You’re only allowed to listen if you’re wearing a Santa hat, it’s obligatory!”.
