Pokemon Stadium, a legendary N64 release, will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online library, according to an announcement by Nintendo.

This classic bit of Pokemon madness, released back in 2000, can be downloaded by subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service starting from Wednesday, April 12th.

During the height of the original Pokemon mania, Pokemon Stadium was released for the N64, and featured the cutesy critters from Game Boy releases Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow. The trainer-on-trainer action took place in a range of stadiums set within the Pokeverse, with a single-player campaign and multiplayer action allowing up to four trainers to compete in head-to-head throwdown.

Various mini-games are included in the game, such as Sushi-Go-Round and Magikarp’s Splash, located in the oddly titled “Kid’s Club”. The Nintendo Switch Online version will include all the original release’s modes except Game Boy integration.

To play these games you will need a Nintendo Switch Online+ Expansion Pack subscription. This has a free 7-day trial, which you can sign up for via the Nintendo website and enjoy for just £34.99 every 12 months.
