If you’ve been planning a Raspberry Pi Amiga emulation system, you’ve probably looked at Amibian. It’s a fine option, but doesn’t tick all the boxes.
For a more authentic Amiga feel, what you need is PiMiga. Now at version 2.0, the x64 build uses the ScalosWB desktop replacement. This creates an “Amiga like” experience, but to get it working you will need to have bought your own ROMs. The best way to do this is using the Amiga Forever app on Android, which gives you Amiga OS 1.2, 1.3, 2.04, 3.0 and 3.1.
(Note that ROMs from Cloanto and Hyperion are encrypted. They must be run in Amiga Forever or WinUAE for decryption before running on PiMiga or the system may not work.)
- PiMiga 2.0 features:
- Debian Buster x64 new core OS
- i2x support
- Amiberry 3.1.5 x64 emulator
- Additional controller support
- USB/microSD boot
- Zeb’s EAB WHDload pack (October 2021)
- Music mods, demos, and more
- BBS system access
You can download your copy of PiMiga 2.0 using this BitTorrent tracker.
