Following the success of last year’s release, TAITO and ININ are back with another collection of classic arcade games. This time, the compilation features 10 titles that represent the best of the best from TAITO’s arcade legacy.
The games included in TAITO Milestones 2 are:
- New Zealand Story (1988): A platform game where you play as a kiwi bird trying to save your friends from an alien invasion.
- Kiki Kaikai (1986): A puzzle game where you control a cat named Kiki as she tries to collect all the stars in each level.
- Darius II (3 Screen Arcade Version) (1989): A scrolling shooter where you pilot a spaceship through a variety of alien-infested environments.
- Gun Frontier (1990): A run-and-gun game where you take on waves of enemies with a variety of weapons.
- Ben Bero Beh (1984): A unique game where you control a ball as it bounces around a maze, collectingfruits and avoiding obstacles.
- The Legend of Kage (1985): A ninja-themed platformer where you must rescue your kidnapped master.
- Liquid Kids (Mizubaku Adventure) (1990): A water-based platform game where you control a frog as it explores a series of flooded dungeons.
- Solitary Fighter (1991): A fighting game where you take on a variety of opponents in one-on-one matches.
- Dinorex (1992): A dinosaur-themed shooter where you pilot a tank and take down enemy dinosaurs.
- Metal Black (1991): A fast-paced shoot-em-up where you must destroy enemy ships and bosses.
The games in TAITO Milestones 2 have been faithfully recreated to match their original arcade versions, and they all feature a variety of gameplay options, including online multiplayer, save states, and rewinding.
The compilation will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on August 31, 2023.
In addition to the games, TAITO Milestones 2 also includes an exclusive interview with Mr. Satoshi Hamada, President of Hamster Corporation, who discusses the Arcade Archives collection and the development of this compilation.
