If your Steam wishlist still looks a little too healthy this winter, Retroware is here to fix that.

The Philly-based publisher has kicked off its Steam Winter Sale, cutting prices by up to 30% across its catalogue of modern retro delights. The sale runs from December 18 through January 5, giving you plenty of time to grab some pixel-perfect bargains before reality (and full prices) return.

Leading the charge is The Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit, which recently received its first major content update. The new Endless Challenge Mode adds a hefty extra reason to dive back in — or finally give it a go if you’ve been sitting on the fence.

Look out for Iron Meat

Also very much worth your attention is Iron Meat, which is down to Ā£13.99. If you’re even remotely into Contra-style run-and-gun chaos, this one’s a standout. It’s fast, brutal, gloriously messy, and absolutely nails that ā€œjust one more goā€ arcade energy. Chunky pixel art, relentless enemy waves, and tight controls make it one of Retroware’s strongest releases — and an easy recommendation at this price.

Elsewhere, there are solid discounts on a mix of arcade throwbacks, platformers, and AVGN classics, making this a great chance to stock up on games that feel ripped straight from the CRT era.
