Clear River Games, in collaboration with City Connection, has released RIKI 8Bit GAME Collection for Nintendo Switch in Europe. It combines a selection of five retro-inspired arcade games with a series of chiptune albums featuring music from renowned composers.

RIKI 8Bit GAME Collection features a curated selection of games, each with its own distinct personality:

  • Kira Kira Star Night! – A charming platformer with a focus on accessibility and a diverse soundtrack featuring contributions from Yuzo Koshiro, Manami Matsumae, and Manabu Namiki.
  • Astro Ninja Man DX – A fast-paced arcade shooter with challenging gameplay and a focus on high scores.

What else is in the RIKI 8Bit GAME Collection?

The collection also includes three chiptune albums:

  • 8BIT MUSIC POWER
  • 8BIT MUSIC POWER FINAL
  • 8BIT MUSIC POWER ENCORE

These albums feature tracks from a roster of legendary game composers, including Soichi Terada, Junya Nakano, and ZUN, alongside modern chiptune artists.

RIKI 8Bit GAME Collection is available now digitally for £17.99 / €19.99 / $19.99, with a physical release planned for early 2025. Full details can be found on the Clear River Games website.

This collection also boasts:

  • Unique Blend of Games and Music: Combines five retro-inspired arcade games with a collection of high-quality chiptune albums.
  • All-Star Composer Lineup: Features music from legendary game composers and prominent chiptune artists.
  • Nostalgic Aesthetics: Games feature classic pixel art and addictive gameplay reminiscent of the golden age of arcades.

RIKI 8Bit GAME Collection’s chiptune music might just be the most interesting feature, but overall this is a good package for any retro fans seeking something different for their gaming library.
