Successful modern NES release Roniu’s Tale is heading to Nintendo Switch. Developed by 8-Bit Legit, the game is an action puzzler that started life as a Kickstarter – and is now on the most popular handheld gaming system in the world!

Released through 8-Bit Legit (a partnership between Mega Cat Studios & Retrotainment Games), Roniu’s Tale was developed by Kunjee Studio. This is a team formed in 2019 “with one goal in mind: bringing retro games to life.”

Step into the shoes of a hopeless wizard who tried to run away from his problems and found himself in a bigger mess. Help Roniu access his magic and find his way through a deadly dungeon while taking down a plague of enemies hellbent on keeping him there. Steady now, you’re no longer on stable ground!

Roniu’s Tale is evocative of classics like Solomon’s Key and Adventures of Lolo, with levels designed to allow multiple routes, but as the tiles crumble, there is no way back! As such, careful planning is required as you collect orbs and keys, and avoid threats.

Roniu’s Tale features:

  • 47 levels of puzzling adventure action
  • Experience authentic retro gameplay
  • A Whirlwind of Enemies & Epic Bosses and Four Magical Skills to Take Them On
  • Check out 3 swappable gameplay borders on Nintendo Switch
  • Leaf through the original manual in-game during your attempt to escape the dungeon
  • Limbo, Lava, Jungle & Cross-dimensional Pixel-Immersive Mechanics
  • Intuitive & Precise Controls that work with the NES Online controllers
  • Developed by Kunjee Studio

Support for NES-style controllers is particularly exciting, making Roniu’s Tale a particularly intriguing release. Learn on the Roniu’s Tale page at Mega Cat Studios, or buy Roniu’s Tale on the Nintendo eShop.
