Who is up for a new feature to be unlocked on a 28 year old NES game? Boxing classic Super Punch-out has a two player versus mode that no one knew about until last week!

Here’s how it was revealed to the world:

The cheat requires both controllers to be hooked up, and at the title the Y+R buttons held in controller pad two, followed by A or START on controller one. A new screen appears, listing playable characters from thr game, including from the Special Circuit.

To control the CPU assigned character, hold B+Y on the second controller and again tap A or START on controller one.

What’s more, the same cheat combo works in the Nintendo Switch…

But the big question is how this cheat went undiscovered for nearly 30 years. The requirement for two controllers may have something to do with it, but ever so, that is a huge delay.

If you own a copy of Super Punch-out, this cheat is available for you to try out now.

Enjoy!
