SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2 Is Amazon Exclusive in Europe

SEGA has confirmed details of its UK and Europe Mega Drive Mini 2 launch. The compact console – a follow up to the earlier and now quite rare Mega Drive Mini – will launch on October 27th and is an Amazon exclusive.

As such, while you might find it supplied by other retailers, those devices will have been acquired either from Amazon or direct from SEGA in Japan or the USA. Consequently, they will have accordingly inflated prices.

Unsurprisingly, your best option is to buy the SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2 from Amazon. Described there as “more compact” and “more advanced” the listing confirms the inclusion of Mega-CD titles, with the box including the SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2 console, a single wired six-button controller, one power cable, and an HDMI cable. The back of the console has HDMI output, micro-B USB power, while the front of the Mega Drive Mini 2 has dual USB inputs.

Video output is 720p and 480p, while audio is linear PCM through HDMI only. The console is 120.8mm x 32.3mm x 116.5mm, while the controller measures 140 x 70mm x 29mm with a 2m cable.
