Did you get anything good in your email inbox today?

Subscribers to our newsletter did.

Issued every Sunday and jam-packed with the main retro gaming news from the past 7 days — along with a selection of articles from archive — the Gaming Retro newsletter is your one-stop access to all the latest retro news.

For example, this week’s edition featured a look at the PsyDOOM open source DOOM clone, along with details of the current Humble Bundle campaign in which you can get classic DOOM and DOOM II.

It’s also an opportunity for me to engage directly with you as a regular reader of the site. You can respond to the email so I can speak to you directly, and 1 or 2 readers have already done that. And it’s nice to find out what people are playing and what they think of the website, and to know that there is a strong community of readers out there.

An uphill climb

I will not pretend that it has been easy getting things back on track. But I am very heartened to learn that we’ve now hit a significant milestone of five thousand page views since january 2025.

This means that we’re now at a better position as an ongoing website than were before the rebrand (to a name that will never be mentioned again).

So, if you don’t already get our newsletter, please sign up now, and every Sunday, you’ll get the latest retro gaming news in your inbox. Meanwhile, if you do already subscribe, thank you so much for your ongoing support.
