So what is the big plan for Gaming Retro?
Well, it’s something that I don’t believe any of the other retro gaming sites has attempted. Some of the sites are using slightly similar elements to what I am planning, but none of them are doing the “full fat” deep-dive that I am planning.
A quick overview: the vision of the site is that it should have reviews of games, reviews of devices, and guides for getting games running on any current system.
No complexity — I’m talking quick-step guides; quick fire guides.
Making retro gaming easy
I want people to be able to play old games with as little effort as possible. Whether it’s on an Android phone on a desktop PC or on some other console, I’m aiming to present solutions that enable setup of games in the most frictionless way.
Some examples of how retro gaming is being made easy include Evercade, the Polymega, and GOG.com. But these really just scratch the surface, and unless you know exactly what you’re looking for, finding the right game and getting it to run on the available hardware can turn into quite the quest.
By keeping things easy, we bring more people into the world of retro gaming.
