Before I kick off playing Football Manager, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the original cassette and inlay.
Quick recap: I played the game originally on the ZX Spectrum, then briefly on the C64, before playing Football Manager 2 on the C64 much later, and on disk. The BBC version I had never seen until recently, when scrolling through the contents of the microSD card that came with the MMFS ROM and card reader.
In this video is the cassette and box that came with the BBC Micro, gifted to me by a reader of ComputerActive magazine a couple of years ago. I’m still not up and running with tapes, so I will be playing Football Manager from the SD card for the next video. But I’m fascinated by the cassette, the detail in the inlay… and Kevin Thom’s disembodied head.
