This new LEGO Arcade Machine build is out on August 1st and features a hidden gamer’s room inside.

Expecting to cost just £34.99 ($39.99), LEGO kit 40805 is a 6-inch tall Arcade Machine suitable for kids aged 10 plus, and, of course, adults like us. But not only does it come with a nice classic video game “display” and controls, the machine opens up to reveal a minifigure game’s room, with another mini arcade machine and other furniture elements.

Features of the LEGO Arcade Machine

  • Game room decor for kids and adults – Spark memories of playing classic arcade games and create playful video game decor with this detailed LEGO® Arcade Machine building set for ages 10 and up
  • Video game collectible – The buildable arcade game station opens to reveal a detailed gamer’s room inside, including a buildable mini arcade game station, computer and sofa, plus a LEGO® minifigure
  • Build-your-own gaming decor – This set offers a rewarding building experience for gamers young and old, and their brick-built creation will make fun shelf or desk decor
  • Playful display model – The set includes coin elements to put into the slot of the arcade machine, which swooshes them out again
  • Retro gaming gift for kids and adult fans – Give this 468-piece LEGO® building kit to kids aged 10 plus and adult video game fans

LEGO’s retro gaming kits

Of course, this isn’t the first LEGO retro gaming kit, and definitely won’t be the last. Later this year, we’ve got the Nintendo Game Boy LEGO kit, and you can also buy a LEGO Super Mario Nintendo Entertainment System and a LEGO Atari 2600. There’s also a LEGO Pac-Man game arcade machine (a LEGO exclusive).

You can get the LEGO Arcade Machine 40805 from August 1st. I’m interested to know how long it will take for someone to install a real display and a Raspberry Pi Pico…
