Revisit classic TMNT arcade machines thanks to Numskull’s Quarter Arcade cabinet range.
Numbskull has just revealed the latest mini arcade cabinets in their ever-growing line of Quarter Arcades. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Turtles In Time (1991) each have their own unit, and they exude the same high quality the range is known for.
Numbskull Quarter Arcades are named as such because they are 1/4 scale versions of their original arcade counterparts. The TMNT cabinets feature a light-up marquee, and the housing is made of wood.
Replicas of classic arcade machines are growing in popularity. A couple of years ago, an arcade style machine packed with dozens of old school arcade games was available in Walmart in the USA and online in the UK. Meanwhile, Arcade1Up recently announced a replica of the classic Star Wars arcade cabinet.
Like the real thing, the games are 4-player and can be operated with the mini joysticks and buttons on the front. The big difference is the coin slots that hide 4 USB ports so traditional controllers can be used instead. I’m all for authenticity, but this is a great quality-of-life enhancement. Numbskull also sells controllers with the TMNT cabinets in mind.
These cabinets use original arcade ROMs and are played on a 6″ TFT Screen. As for power, a USB-C Cable is included, and each unit has rechargeable batteries so they can be played entirely portable.
The TMNT cabinets are available for preorder on Numskull’s official website, with orders due for fulfillment by the end of the year.
