A new 8-bit pixel art platform adventure from Volcano Bytes and JanduSoft is out now. Find Trasmoz Legends on Steam, PlayStations, Xbox One and Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

Boasting authentic 8-bit pixel art and a Yamaha YM2203-based chiptune soundtrack, Trasmoz Legends offers a strong dose of gaming circa 1984. Based on the Trasmoz Saga (The Curse of Trasmoz and Revenge of Trasmoz, released on ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC since 2020), Trasmoz Legends looks a lot of fun. Here’s how it was announced:

Trasmoz Legends features

Developed by Volcano Bytes and released by JanduSoft, Trasmoz Legends is described as follows:

Trasmoz Legends offers more than just platforming. With emergent gameplay systems, every session introduces new ways to challenge your skills. Between candle lighting strategies, enemies and environmental traps, the game is packed with high-replayability mechanics that keep even the most experienced players on their toes, solo or co-op.

The game also offers various game modes to suit casual and hardcore retro gamers:

  • Family Mode – This mode is perfect for those looking for a more relaxed experience, especially when playing with younger players. It offers infinite credits and a forgiving difficulty curve, making it easier to enjoy the game without the intense challenge that classic arcade titles are known for. It’s a great way for parents to introduce their kids to retro gaming and enjoy the adventure together.
  • Classic Mode – For seasoned retro gamers and those looking for an authentic arcade experience, Classic Mode ramps up the difficulty, limiting your credits and making every life count. This mode is designed to replicate the challenge and excitement of 1980s arcade games, pushing your skills to the limit.
  • Speedrun Mode – If you thrive on beating the clock, Speedrun Mode is made for you. It tracks your total playtime and ranks your performance, allowing you to compete for the fastest clear time. Speedrunners can test their precision and skill, replaying levels to shave off precious seconds and climb the leaderboard.
  • Endless Mode – For players seeking a truly endless challenge, Endless Mode offers an infinite sequence of pre-designed levels presented in a pseudo-random order, each becoming progressively harder. See how long you can survive and compete for the highest score. This mode ensures unique playthroughs, delivering limitless replayability and non-stop action.

Following initial development and pre-order on Itch.io (where it can still be bought with some physical extras), Trasmoz Legends is now available on SteamPlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5Xbox One and Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch at just £6.69/€7.99 /$7.99.
