Red Art Games will be launching their scrolling shooter Castle of Shikigami 2 as a physical release later this year. Whilst there is no official release date, the publishers have given some information about this remastered version and what new options it has to offer.
Making its debut in arcades in 2003, this narrative-rich shooter eventually made its way to the SEGA Dreamcast and the Nintendo GameCube. Red Art Games have also teased the following:
“Twenty years after the release of the original Arcade version, the masterpiece Shoot ‘em Up Castle of Shikigami 2 has come back with brand new game modes and features!”
They also mention the Switch having a “deep and dramatic storyline” with new modes known as “New Entry” and “Dramatic Change” being added in. The second mode allows you to switch characters. There are seven playable characters, two-player mode and a fresh translation from its original Japanese dialogue.
The game hit PC back in 2021 with response being ranked at “Mostly Positive” on Steam. Further information such as pricing and pre-order bonuses will be detailed later this year, also.
You’ll find the digital version of Castle of Shikigami 2 now in the Nintendo eShop.
