Magnetic Fields (developers of the Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge and Super Cars series) are the primary feature of the latest issue of Amiga Addict, out now.
Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge is a particular favourite of mine. Way back in the 1990s, my best friend at school and myself both had Amiga 500s. On opportune evenings after school (mostly once our exams were our of the way), we’d get together for a Gamesmaster-esque series of gaming challenges.
Two player games, all, they would typically include a frame of Jimmy White’s Whirlwind Snooker, Lemmings, Super Cars 2, Amiga Tanx, and Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge itself. Playing one game on each, the evening’s winner would be the one who won the most out of the five titles.
I wouldn’t like to say I won most of them – I genuinely don’t know – but as far as you’re concerned, dear reader, I did.
So, it’s nice to see a feature on Magnetic Fields in Amiga Addict #22, which I’ve already started reading. The features have brough those competitions flooding back, although I don’t know how easy (or otherwise) it would be to arrange a similar tournament in 2023.
