Evercade VS owners should now be able to enjoy the latest Game of the Month, Nessy the Robot, from the forthcoming Indie Heroes Collection 2 cart.

Created by Daniel T Gaming using the NES maker software, Nessy the Robot is a fun side-scrolling platform shooter pitting you against robot zombies and other alien-controlled monsters. The game features multiple levels, each hiding secrets and characters to talk to.

It’s one of ten downloadable indie games released between April and December 2022, each available to play for a whole month.

Nessy the Robot has its roots in the Byte-Off game design competition, and wa created by Daniel along with an art director (Morgan), concept artist (Minty) and contributions from many others.

To get the Game of the Month feature, boot your Evercade VS, go to Settings > System > Update and grab firmware 2.1.0. At the time of writing, the latest firmware available was 2.0.4, so presumably the servers are being updated to provide 2.1.0 throughout the week.

When you see the star icon on the left menu, you’ll be ready to play the Game of the Month. Just select the star to launch Nessy the Robot on your Evercade VS. The Indie Heroes Collection 2 cart is out later in 2022.
