Another faithful arcade masterpiece reproduction has arrived from Hamster’s Arcade Archives, with Dig Dug 2 now out on Nintendo Switch and PS4.

Released by Namco way back in 1985, Dig Dug 2 was the kind of game you would still find on piers and sea front arcades 20 years laters. A playable machine that was fun, but instantly forgettable.

Reissued for Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation 4 on April 13th, 2023, Dig Dug 2 challenges you to protect an island from the Pooka and Fygar. Monsters can be defeated by overinflating them, while fault lines in the island can be used to drop the enemies into the ocean. Once all enemies are defeated, you move to the next island.

Dig Dug 2 is of course the sequel to Dig Dug, which joined the Arcade Archives back in August 2022.

You can find Dig Dug 2 on the Nintendo eShop for £6.29, and £5.79 on the PlayStation Store.
