The next edition of the greatest print magazine for Amiga lovers is coming in November, and sports a brief new look! Amiga Addict is, for one issue only, rebranding as a tribute to Amiga Format!

I don’t know how many issues of Amiga Format I bought way back when, although the number of cover disks I still own is probably a clue. While other mags like Amiga Power and The One had a very games-focused angle, Amiga Format offered a more complete Amiga magazine experience, cleverly balancing gaming and productivity (not that we ever referred to it as such in those days).

Everything from video FX apps to music tools would typically grace a 3.5-inch floppy, and many issues had a second disk, often squeezing public domain games or demo levels of the next big releases. Browsing the shelves for the best magazine to buy almost always lead to a choice between Amiga Format and Amiga Power, but AF usually won the battle.

So, I’m really looking forward to this issue. This tribute to Future Publishing’s most loved (and missed) publication also ties in with the Amiga’s 4oth anniversary, and while details of the next issue (number 40, and Amiga Format #137!) are scant, we can tell you that it comes with:

  • Full version of X-Copy Professional on the coverdisk.
(Coverdisk is a free ADF disk image file, download link included within the magazine OR physical labelled disk if selected.)
  • Interview with Sam Dicker
  • Feature on Bars and Pipes Pro
  • Feature on LightWave
  • The Settlers II
  • Gloom 3
  • Putty
  • Inevitable feature on Amiga Format
  • Plus lots, lots more TBA
  • (Plus Stoo Cambridge probably)

To learn more and order your copy, head to the Addict Media website. Alternatively, hope you can find a copy in your local TG Jones (formerly known as WH Smith).
