A Kickstarter project emanates and pays homage to the DS era of puzzle games. It’s minimalist style and fun challenge is seeking more supporters before it can become fully available to modern platforms.

Reflectile relies on player accuracy and has explained to be a “minimal, stylish, and challenging top-down puzzle game”. Creator Joe Aquiare has started a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $35,000 USD for a Switch port. At the moment, it’s sitting at $8,500 with $15,000 needed for its initial release on PC. It has 181 backers with 9 days left to make contributions!

In the game you control a small tile that traverses different courses. You goal is to reach the end of the course. With a soundtrack that screams nostalgia and the good old DS days, it has been said to evoke attributes BOXBOY! and DSiWare (NintendoLife).

Aquiare details more about the game, explaining the following:

“It will test your ability to cut corners, squeeze through tight corridors, and make split-second inputs to reach the goal of each stage.

“…Reflect, direct, and slow down your tile to get to the end of each stage. Each world in Reflectile will have you discover and interact with different types of puzzle blocks, including bumpersspeed boostsnumber tiles and many more!”

If you want to try out the game, it’s available as a demo now on Steam!
