The Nintendo Wii game FIFA 10 played here one lunchtime on the Nintendo Wii U. Single player friendly mode, player as Middlesbrough FC.

Released in 2009, FIFA 10 was the 17th game in the series of soccer games from EA Sports. It’s a fantastic two player experience, with the Wiimote and Nunchuk providing surprisingly effective control over the players.

As with any other license soccer video game, the game offers a snapshot of the world football scene in 2009. Long since-retried global stars such as Wayne Rooney, Zinedine Zidane, and Zlatan Ibrahimović all feature in the game.

Back in 2009, Middlesbrough FC was riding high in the English football leagues, occupying a regular mid-table position in the EPL. These days, they languish in a mid-table position in the EFL Championship.

Such is football!

FIFA 10 remains available for Sony PlayStation 3 and PSP, as well as Nintendo Wii and DS.
