Amiga classic Flashback is getting a 2.5D makeover, and set for imminent release on current gen hardware as Flashback 2.

Regularly ranked among the top 100 games of all time, Flashback was developed by Paul Cuisset and featured stunning character animation and layered scrolling. A bizarre adventure that was compelling to play but hard to beat, Flashback remains one of the most memorable games among those that played it.

Announced in the first half of 2021, Flashback 2 will appear over 30 years after the original Amiga game. Sadly (and unsurprisingly) there is no news of an Amiga version of Flashback 2.

After his victory over the “Master Brain” in the first episode, Conrad and his allies are once again confronted with the Morphs, who threaten all civilizations.

Moreover, his friend Ian, who has answers to many of Conrad’s questions, has just been kidnapped in front of him… A trick of the Morphs? For what purpose? It’s up to you to find out…

Help him and his allies to solve this delicate and dangerous investigation through 5 levels full of action and shoot-outs and to fight the Morphs who are preparing a machiavellian plan for total control of the solar system…

Giving you the chance to travel through 5 large levels across 5 different worlds (Jungle, City, GBI Academy, Mutant Village, Morph Ship), Flashback 2 boasts the following features:

  • Use your trusty weaponupgradeable throughout the game to destroy the Morphs!
  • Hide in the shadows to escape the enemies… or to eliminate them.
  • Use armour to protect yourself from the dangers of your environment.
  • Drive a mecha during certain phases and become super-powered!
  • Ride your Moto Jet to get to key locations.
  • Use an inventory system enriched with upgraded weapons and various pieces of equipment: Weapons, connected glasses…
  • 2.5D profile gameplay for more immersion.
  • English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.

Once again developed by industry veteran Paul Cuisset, Flashback 2 is released through Microids and is scheduled for a Winter 2022 release (which indicates it should be along soon). Flashback 2 will initially launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam), with it hitting Nintendo Switch later.
