id Software co-founder and DOOM level designer John Romero has issued his first new DOOM II level since the game launched in 1994. Proceeds from the level will support humanitarian work in Ukraine, following the invasion by Russia in late February 2022.

Titled “One Humanity”, the new level can be viewed in the video above.

One Humanity is a new level for the 1994 id Software release DOOM® II created by John Romero to support the people of Ukraine and the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross and the UN Central Emergency Response Fund. 100% of the proceeds go toward this support.

One Humanity is Romero’s first DOOM II level since the release of the original in 1994. The .WAD contains a readme text file as well as the external mod data. Players must have an original copy of DOOM II and a modern source port to play One Humanity.

Costing just €5.00 (that’s about £4.30), the new DOOM II level is a WAD file that can be added to the game directory and played from the in-game menu. Whether you have a working installation of DOOM II on your computer or mobile device or not, we hoppe you will be able to support this gesture with one of your own.
