A new browser exploit has just been developed for the Nintendo DSi and it’s a pretty exciting achievement for the 15-year-old console.

Released by Nathan Farlow, the exploit known as ‘Stylehax’ makes use of the DSi’s own default browser but doesn’t need any external or additional hardware to be activated. All it needs is an SD card with the boot.nds file, like from the Twilight Menu ++ (a home-brew launcher hack and general purpose menu for the DS).

Unsurprisingly, this is not the first time we have seen an exploit being developed for the DS. ‘Memory Pit’, an exploit for the DSi camera was introduced 4 years ago, requiring an SD card and downloadable file.

Twilight Menu ++ can be accessed and installed via the github for the project. Then you must visit http://stylehax.net using the DSi browser, however it seems like the exploit may require some rebooting and refreshing.

However, the exploit is open source and can be downloaded from this link if you prefer hosting on your own. It’s incredible when you can create new accessible features for old consoles. It keeps retro gaming technology alive and adaptable!
