A new edition of Amiga Addict is currently available, which looks at HiSoft Systems, a publisher of programming packages for the 16-bit system.
I don’t know about you, but I while I don’t know the name HiSoft Systems, I do recognize some of their products, such as Cinema 4D, and Highspeed Pascal.
The current issue of Amiga Addict (#38) features several pages dedicated to HiSoft Systems, which produced other software like HiSoft BASIC, HiSoft C++, Cinema 4D, iBrowse and Promidi on the Amiga, along with various hardware peripherals. The famous Squirrel CD-ROM drives for the Amiga, along with SCSI interfaces were products from HiSoft Systems, too. Phil South chats with HiSoft founder Andy Pennell to learn about the company’s beginnings.

Meanwhile, if you ever bought Amiga hardware, you would probably have checked Amiga Shopper for ads and reviews. But while that title is long gone, many of its former staff are still around, and they shed light on what it was like working on Amiga Shopper, which ran from 1991 to 1997 under Future Publishing.
